Peacock Subaru Donates $4,875 to Greater Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine

Peacock Subaru has donated $4,875 to Greater Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine as part of the annual Subaru Share the Love event.

The funds were raised during November and December 2018. Each Subaru buyer could decide whether to donate a portion of the purchase price to a national charity or Peacock Subaru's hometown nonprofit, the local chapter of Volunteers In Medicine.

With the dedicated service of volunteer physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, the Bluffton Jasper Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) provides care to friends and neighbors in Bluffton and Jasper County who are without medical insurance. Bluffton-Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine is one of more than 90 independent clinics under the guidance of the National Volunteers in Medicine Alliance.

"It's donations like these that give us the freedom to stop worrying about how we can do it and to start focusing on the people who need it," said Dennis Toney, director of development for Bluffton Jasper County VIM. "We have outstanding nurses and physicians who donate their time and expertise, but it's imperative that we have the financial assistance to make a difference, and Peacock Subaru just made that possible."

The donation will go toward the daily operations of the organization, which is run by approximately 75 volunteers.

"We chose Bluffton Jasper County VIM as our designated hometown charity this year because of the impact they're making in our local community," said Ken Kirby, general manager of Peacock Subaru. "This annual event not only allows our dealership to give back, but it allows our customers to participate in the act of giving."

Mission Statement
Peacock Loves is our long-term commitment to delivering the highest level of positive experiences to our customers, employees and community.

Peacock Loves Employees

Peacock Automotive employees live by the corporate goal, "zero dissatisfied customers." This means employees are empowered and supported to say "yes" to customer requests without the need to say, "let me speak with my manager." They are also recognized by management when a positive review is received or when a certain goal is achieved.

This includes offering free loaner cars for customers during warranted repairs, and always providing an all-live phone system. There are no prompts, no voicemails, no unanswered calls. When you call us, you'll speak to a knowledgeable employee ready to provide advice and answer your questions.

Peacock Loves Customers

"I'd rather spend more money now on creating a positive experience for our customers because I feel it's a good long-term investment," Warner says. "We want to continue giving our customers better onsite experiences."

Not only do our sales teams make sure to create an enjoyable, relaxed environment for our valued customers, but our facilities are also made to provide the same feeling. All dealerships are made to be cheerful, family-friendly, and sparkling clean buildings.

Our dealerships offer café areas with refreshments and free coffee bars to make you feel at home. Of course, our service and parts professionals are always working efficiently to return your car to the road as soon as possible.

Our #1 goal is zero dissatisfied customers, and it shows in all aspects of our dealerships and how we interact with guests.

Constantly improving onsite experiences and creating long-term relationships are the top priorities of Peacock Automotive Chairman and CEO Warner Peacock. Throughout the years, we've worked tirelessly to create a welcoming environment at all of our dealerships for customers and employees.

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, over 700 employees, and reaching numerous communities in the Southeast, Warner feels that "doing our best to make everyone happy" is what keeps him going. Whether that means recognizing employees for professional and personal achievements, supporting local Boys and Girls Clubs or organizations like the American Heart Association, or finding the right car for a new family in town, he feels that making an impact on other people's lives is important.

With Peacock Loves, we want to make sure that everyone feels the love that Warner does every day.

Peacock Loves Community

In recent years, community efforts have included our Peacock Collision Center collecting donations for the people of Puerto Rico in disaster relief efforts. The Peacock Automotive Group has also hosted Santa's Workshop, which brings holiday cheer and is a community-focused event around the holiday season for boys and girls across the Lowcountry area.

The Subaru Love Promise is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Peacock Subaru Helps Plant seeds for the Love of the Earth

We delivered gardening supplies to Okatie Elementary in the Spring of 2017 as part of the "Subaru Loves the Earth" campaign. We delivered bird feeders, a watering can, tools, birdhouses and a bird bath. We are so happy to be able to encourage the students to be good stewards of the earth and local wildlife. We hope they enjoy the garden outside the door in their classroom!

(JASPER COUNTY, S.C.) Peacock Subaru Hilton Head presented $22,570 to the Bluffton-Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine to help provide medical services and compassionate care to the uninsured.

This marks the fourth year in a row that Peacock Subaru has chosen Volunteers in Medicine to receive a local share made available in conjunction with Subaru of America, Inc.'s Share the Love program, which donates $250 for every new Subaru sold or leased to the customer's choice of national charities or one hometown charity chosen by the local auto dealer.

"This is not only a wonderful gift from Peacock Subaru, but it is a tremendous contribution to the community," said Pamela Toney, the non-profit's executive director. "There are more than 17,000 patients in this area who do not have health insurance, and this money will be put to great use."

The 2017 program contributions, along with a match of more than $2 million from Subaru retailers, brings the total amount donated during the 10-year-old national program to more than $118 million.

"The program demonstrates a shared commitment by Subaru and local retailers in making the world a better place," said Warner Peacock, president and CEO of Peacock Automotive. "We believe in being a positive force in the communities where we live and work, not just with donations but with actions that set an example for others to follow."

Over the years, Peacock Subaru has led local initiatives to encourage pet adoptions and collect donations for animal shelters. The dealership has alsodonated blankets and craft kits to local cancer care facilities in partnership with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of Subaru's Loves to Care campaign. Peacock Subaru has also donated gardening supplies and books to local schools.

During the event, guests will enjoy food from Skull Creek Boathouse and live entertainment from Brad Wells. Animal rescue staff also will be on site with pets available for adoption.

"Yappy Hour" will be held in conjunction with the launch of the Clear The Shelters campaign, a nationwide pet adoption drive. Subaru of Hilton Head announced the launch of Clear the Shelters on Thursday, July 13. The community was encouraged to bring pet supplies to fill a fleet of Subarus; participants received a pet gift and ice cream as a thank you for their donation.

Clear the Shelters has offered incentives such as free heartworm prevention medication for dogs, two months of free flea treatment for cats and prizes such as pet toys. Nearly 700 shelters are participating nationwide. Last year, Clear the Shelters found homes for 50,000 animals.

Seven shelters are participating in the Clear the Shelters initiative, including the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission, the Palmetto Animal League, Hilton Head Humane Society, Effingham County Shelter, Georgia Animal Rescue & Defence, Humane Society of Greater Savannah, and One Love Animal Rescue. Donations are being collected for each of these shelters at Subaru of Hilton Head.

UPDATE: We had a great time at Yappy Hour on July 12 at Peacock Subaru Hilton Head! Jasper Animal Rescue Mission brought adoptable dogs (and one went home!) and our generous guests brought a lot of donations for local animal shelters! Brad Wells Music entertained the crowd and Skull Creek Boathouse offered up delicious food. We collected a large number of items and funds for local animal shelters that will be distributed along with other donations collected between now and the next event on Aug. 23. We are excited to partner with WSAV TV on their annual "Clear The Shelters" campaign, helping to get dogs adopted in the Lowcountry and Savannah.
